Paragliding!!

I have never been so excited and so ready to celebrate someones birthday! Happy birthday Courtney! We talked about going paragliding during the national championship game and I was so glad that we made it happen. I have absolutely no zero to go skydiving. Never have. Never will. But paragliding…. Sign me up! All the views with no free fall.

We had a driver pick us up and take us about 45 minutes to San Felix where it all went down. I was up front with the driver so I got my own little tour of the city whether I wanted it or not. He was quite persistent. It was so much fun to stand on the mountainside watching people get up and come down and fly around. We had a beautiful day and had great views of this massive city. This ‘little’ part of the city is only a tiny northeastern corner.

My pilot (I dont really know what you call them) was nice, fun, and crazy. He started flying solo when he was just 10! Our take off was super smooth (something that not everyone in our group could say) and we were in the air before I knew it. No running. Not even any walking. We were staying there and then I was sitting in the air flying around. We got super super high and he was telling me how he watched the birds to see where the thermals were. We flew over a nice waterfall and lots of cows and pastures. He was pointing out his home, a finca that was Pablo Escobar’s, and so on. He took me on some crazy spiral spins which were… interesting.

We were supposed to fly for 15 minutes and lets just say that I got some extra time for free. He kept trying to land and it just wasnt happening. It was a super fun time but my head was definitely feeling it by the end. Great day!!
